Privacy statement
What happens to the information you leave on this site, short and clear.
Who is responsible?
This site and the client portal are run by Sebastiaan, a developer in Belgium. You can reach me through the chat in your portal.
What do I store?
- When you start a project: your name, email address, optionally your company, and what you tell me about your project (type, budget, timing, description).
- In the chat: your messages and the files you share.
- For your account: your password, only in encrypted form (as a hash), your language and whether you want emails.
- For security: when you were last active, and briefly your IP address on failed logins and new requests, to curb abuse. Those attempts are deleted after a day.
Why?
To review your request, talk to you about your project and prepare a proposal. That's needed to take steps towards an agreement at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The security data is kept because I have a legitimate interest in keeping the site safe (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Who do I share it with?
I never sell your data or use it for advertising. It is stored with the company that hosts this site, and emails are sent through an email service. The site's fonts come from Google Fonts: your browser requests them directly from Google, so Google sees your IP address.
Cookies
This site uses no tracking or advertising cookies. There are only functional cookies:
portfolio_sessie: keeps you logged in and protects forms against abuse.taal: remembers whether you view the site in Dutch or English.
Your choice of a light or dark theme is only stored in your own browser.
How long?
As long as your account exists. Want me to delete your account, projects and messages? Just say so and it will be done, unless I'm legally required to keep something, such as invoices.
Your rights
You can always view, correct or delete your data, and object to how it's used. You can change a lot yourself in your account; for anything else a message is enough. If you're not happy with how I handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
